Does ‘Lunar Olympics’ Sound like a Major Crazy idea ? The Moon’s gravity is about 1/6th that of Earth meaning seriously increased performance, so since it’s inevitable that there will be sports in space, starting on the Moon, then long duration space flight, sport in space should become a reality relatively soon. The Lunar Olympics mockup shows 12 sports that could transfer to Lunar gravity : Archery, Athletics, Fencing, Judo, Shooting, Taekwondo, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Weight lifting, Wrestling and Triathlon. What are your views on above sports in 1/6 gravity, do you think it’s viable or would a whole new set of games need to be evolved ?
Great example of acrobatics in zero gravity on USA Skylab in 1973. Built from a Saturn V S-IVB stage. Lunar gravity will be somewhere between this and Earth.

Mockup for potential Lunar Olympics, I think it’s inevitable that there will be sports in space and on the Moon and that it will become a reality relatively soon, 1/6 gravity for Lunar Olympics, a new set of rules and tactics for each discipline competed. Also long duration space flight will have sports areas, maybe hand ball within a walled space where you can bounce the ball of roof, walls and ground would suit spacecraft environment.
